General Terms and Conditions

  1. Definitions
    1. Buyer - the Person, Firm, or Company so named in the Purchase Order or Quotation.

    2. Solas - trading name of Solas Enterprises.

    3. Goods - all items to be supplied and/or work to be done by Solas as specified in the Purchase Order or Quotation.

    4. Purchase Order - Buyer’s Purchase Order which specifies that these conditions apply to it.

    5. Quotation - Quotation for Goods made by Solas.

    6. The Contract - the arrangement between the Buyer and Solas, comprising the Purchase Order, these Conditions and any other documents specified in the Purchase Order.

  2. Conditions
    1. Price - price will be as specified in the Quotation. Due to the volatile nature of computer equipment the prices for hardware and software in the Quotation are valid for 7 days from date of Quotation.

    2. Payment - terms will be specified on the Quotation.

      1. New Buyers; Solas will normally require a deposit payable on placement of the order with the balance to be paid by cheque on completion of the work.

      2. Established Buyers may be given a credit limit. If any Purchase Order will take the Buyer over this limit, then the excess must be paid in advance. Any credit must be paid within 30 days of the date of the invoice.

    3. Delivery - unless otherwise agreed, delivery will be to the premises of the Buyer. All risk of the goods will remain with Solas until delivery, when it will transfer to the Buyer. Any omissions or damages to delivered Goods must be reported to Solas within 2 working days.

    4. Changes - If the Buyer wishes to make changes to the Purchase Order after it has been submitted, this may be possible subject to discussion with Solas and an optional restocking fee.

    5. Ownership - all goods remain the property of Solas until paid for in full. This does not affect iii above.

    6. Warranty - All hardware provided by Solas will carry a 12 month warranty. If any hardware fails within 12 months of installation, Solas will replace or repair the faulty item at no cost. Warranty will be considered void if failure of hardware is deemed to have been caused by misuse of the hardware.

    7. Liability - Solas shall not accept liability for damage to or failure of equipment other than equipment supplied by Solas. Solas shall accept no responsibility for time or income lost to the Buyer due to a fault in equipment supplied.

    8. Buyer’s Responsibility - The Buyer takes full responsibility to ensure that supporting services, such as power supplies, are capable of supporting any equipment ordered from Solas.
